White-shouldered Smudge

This is essentially a woodland species, where it can occasionally
be abundant.&nbsp; A scarce wanderer to garden
light-traps.&nbsp; Fairly widely distributed
in wooded areas, though oddly absent from the woods on the Wiltshire border.

Barred Smudge

Associated with oak, this is a scarce and predominately
westerly moth in Somerset, fairly widespread in VC5 but only known from two
areas in VC6, Great Breach Wood and around Weston-super-Mare.

Wood Smudge

Another rare, oak-feeding Ypsolopha.&nbsp; Recent records come from around
Weston-super-Mare, Taunton and Porlock.
