Black-headed Pigmy

An under-recorded and difficult-to-identify Stigmella mining oak, but one of the more frequently encountered species, distributed right across the county.

Chestnut Pigmy

A miner on oak and sweet chestnut, being the only Stigmella to mine the leaves of the latter species, which is not a native species and rather local within the county.&nbsp; Recorded from both foodplants in Somerset, it appears to be one of the scarcer Stigmellas mining oak.
