Only recorded from the Porlock area extending west at least to Embelle Wood.&nbsp; Although not seen since 2006, it is unlikely to have been looked for.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Silver-barred Alder Pigmy

A leaf-miner on alders, separable only with some difficulty from <i>S. glutinosa</i>.&nbsp; Widely distributed but appears to be scarcer than many of the <i>Phyllonorycter</i> species mining alder.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Nut-tree Pigmy

A leaf-miner on hazel and hornbeam; the former plant is by far the commoner and the records reflect this.&nbsp; The moth is widespread and common, occasionally proving to be locally abundant.&nbsp; Gaps in distribution probably result from under-recording, though both foodplant and moth may be absent from the alluvial areas of the Levels and the more barren parts of inland Exmoor.
