Peacock Moth

Separable only with difficulty from Sharp-angled Peacock, and a much rarer species than that moth in Somerset; formerly widespread but has now declined to the point where it is not recorded in the county most years.

Scorched Carpet

Frequently recorded, though rarely in any numbers.&nbsp; Appears to occur right across the county, with its mapped absence from inland Exmoor perhaps the result of under-recording.

Ringed Border

A very rare immigrant, first recorded on mainland Britain at Merriot, in the county, in 2009. In mainland Europe it frequents damp woodland.
