Pine Hawk-moth

Around 30 records, sporadically distributed across the county, and seemingly increasing in frequency.&nbsp; Many records result from wanderings, and the moth is not definitively resident, though it may well be in the far east of the county from where there is a sequence of records from suitable habitat.

Death's-head Hawk-moth

A scarce migrant, in many years not being reported at all, in others turning up in small numbers across the county.&nbsp; Unlike the other migrant hawk-moths, it is often recorded as a larva, usually from allotments and potato-patches.

Privet Hawk-moth

Thinly spread across the county and regularly recorded, though scarce in parts of central and eastern Somerset.
