Cinerous Pearl

Scarce, not recorded every year, and seemingly absent from
the west of the county.&nbsp; The larval
foodplant is yellow rattle, a species of old hay-meadows that has declined
considerably.&nbsp; Mostly recorded to light,
but occasionally observed by day.

Sulphur Pearl

Rare and of uncertain status in Somerset – it is resident in some parts
of the country and a migrant in other parts.&nbsp;
Generally a handful of records per decade.

Lesser Pearl

An intermittent resident and possibly a migrant as
well.&nbsp; A few records from the Bristol
suburbs, 2000-2004, suggesting temporary residence; there are older records
from Bickenhall (1956) and pre-1945 records from Shapwick, Batcombe and
Misterton, which suggest a wider distribution in the past.
