Lime Hawk-moth

Widely distributed throughout the county, though absent from inland Exmoor.&nbsp; It appears to be commonest in and around urban areas, perhaps reflecting widespread planting of lime trees.

Kentish Glory

Last recorded in the north of the county in 1908.&nbsp; Now restricted to parts&nbsp; of Scotland.

Emperor Moth

In Somerset the moth seems to be associated with sizeable areas of heather.&nbsp; It is still reasonably well distributed on Exmoor and the Quantocks, much less frequent on the Mendips.&nbsp; The moth used to be regularly reported in the Shapwick/Westhay area, but has not been seen there since 2000.
