Widespread across the county, the gap in inland Exmoor probably being the result of under-recording.&nbsp; Whilst the moth does come to light, it can be found in a variety of ways, as larvae on sallow or, perhaps most frequently, as hibernating adults in caves, tunnels or outbuildings.

county in grassy places, flying by day and also coming to light.&nbsp; That said, numbers seem to have fallen from
where they were 15-20 years ago.
