county.&nbsp; Not especially common, but
perhaps under-recorded, and the difficulty in identifying most <i>Dichrorampha</i>
species does not help.

Orange-spotted Shoot

Recorded most years in very small
numbers.&nbsp; For a moth associated with
Scots pine <i>Pinus sylvestris</i>, it is oddly absent from many of the upland
areas where it might be expected to be commonest in Somerset.

Spotted Shoot

Scarce but perhaps increasing in
numbers.&nbsp; Far more frequent in the south
of the county.&nbsp; Another pine-feeder
strangely absent from upland areas where its hostplants are most common.
