Scarce Tissue

Historically more widespread but now found largely in&nbsp; the Midlands and East Anglia. It was always rare and local in the county, and has not been recorded since 1995.&nbsp; The larvae feed on Barberries and Oregon-grape in hedges, parks and gardens.

Argent & Sable

Nationally a very rare moth.&nbsp; The only Somerset site is Shapwick Heath, where a population persists on the relict heathland, breeding on Bog Myrtle <i>Myrica gale</i>.<br>

Scallop Shell

Fairly widely distributed in the west of the county.&nbsp; Much more local and restricted to wetland habitats (Shapwick area, Gordano Valley) iln the east of the county.<br>
