The Forester

A much-declined moth in Somerset,
in keeping with the national trend.&nbsp;
Still regularly recorded from Priddy Mineries.&nbsp; Other relatively recent sites include Ham
Hill (last record 2015), GB Gruffy (2012), Hatch Hill (2011), Bannerdown
(2010), Blackmoor (2008) and Ubley Warren (2007).&nbsp; This moth needs considerable care to distinguish it from other forester species.

Six-belted Clearwing

Associated with calcareous grassland, especially on Mendip, the Avon gorge and around Bath, and on biodiverse post-industrial land.&nbsp; There are probably more sites to be found, particularly in central Mendip.<br>

Thrift Clearwing

No Somerset records, but not improbable that it occurs on parts of the Exmoor coast where its foodplant is common.<br>
