One of our most common immigrant moths, though in variable
numbers, in some years being abundant and in others relatively scarce.&nbsp; 

Burnished Brass

Still found right across the county and fairly common, but
not as abundant as it once was; records of 10 or more at light were not
infrequent until about a decade ago.

Golden Plusia

This species was new to Britain in 1890 and expanded rapidly.&nbsp; It had reached Somerset by 1908 and was soon widespread in the county, being regularly reported from the 1960s onwards.&nbsp; Records began to decline from the turn of the century and it has disappeared from much of the county, only regularly being reported now from northern Somerset, especially around Bath and Keynsham.
