Confined to the west Somerset
coast (recorded from Watchet and West Luccombe).&nbsp; Probably a species that is only likely to be
found if deliberately searched for.

Cliff Plume

Long known from the island of Steep Holm, in the Bristol Channel, though the difficulty of accessing the island makes records few and far between.&nbsp; The adult comes to light, but the species is also frequently found as a larva.&nbsp; The larval host plant is Rock Sea-lavender, <i>Limonium binervosum</i>, and the larvae utilise plants surrounded by bare rock a few metres above the high tide mark.&nbsp; Similar conditions should occur at the relatively well-recorded Brean Down, and it is surprising that the moth has not been found there to date.

Scattered and rare, though might
be found to be more widespread if attempts were made to record it in open, disturbed
areas where the foodplant (coltsfoot <i>Tussilaga farfara</i>) is found.
