Small Purple-barred

A rare species of grassy places with extremely poor soils, which are often rocky.  The moths fly by day and also come to light.  Most records are from calcareous sites, particularly on the Mendips and Poldens, but it also turns up locally and irregularly at sites in inland Exmoor.
