An abundant miner on Hawthorn, probably present right across the county wherever the foodplant occurs.<br>

Brown Birch Slender

Local, but can be quite common
where it occurs, as a leaf-miner on birch.&nbsp;
Four main areas: Exmoor (where it may be under-recorded), the Quantocks,
around Shapwick Heath, and on post-industrial land in the east Mendips
extending into the woods on the Wiltshire border.&nbsp; Not recorded recently from Leigh Woods (last recorded 1963), but
possible it can still be found there.&nbsp;
Occasional records of adults elsewhere, presumably dispersing
individuals.

Beech Slender

A rare leaf-miner on beech,
recorded six times to date, from the east Mendips, Great Breach Wood and the Quantocks.<br>
