Garden Tiger

A moth in decline nationally.&nbsp; The Somerset picture is not quite so clear-cut as it is still regularly and widely recorded, though it appears to be retreating towards core areas and becoming absent from others - it is in particular rarely found on or adjacent to the Mendips.

Ruby Tiger

Widespread across the county in
decent numbers, sometimes very common on wetland sites, although numbers have
declined since the turn of the century.

Wood Tiger

This always seems to have been a scarce and local species.&nbsp; It has been lost from the Quantocks (last record 1970).&nbsp; On Exmoor it is regularly recorded from Haddon Hill as a by-product of butterfly transect recording there, with a scattering of records from elsewhere.&nbsp; On Mendip it occurs in a cluster of nearby species-rich grassland sites - Westbury Beacon, Draycott Sleights, Ubley Warren and Priddy Mineries.
