Widespread and fairly common,
probably everywhere where its foodplant, sycamore <i>Acer pseudoplatanus</i>,
occurs.&nbsp; The early stages can be recorded
in various ways, but it is usually found as an adult to light.

Leigh, Portishead, Batcombe, Misterton, Haselbury Plucknett.&nbsp; Not seen in the county since.

Maple Piercer

Rare; two records from the
Blackdowns in 2004 and 2005.&nbsp; The
foodplant, field-maple <i>Acer campestre</i>, is very common in parts of the
county.
