Little Beech Piercer

A thin scattering of records of
this beech-feeder.&nbsp; It is likely to be
under-recorded; it seems to come to light only rarely, and the larvae are
fairly easy to find in their spinnings in autumn.

Orange-spot Piercer

Scattered across the county, favouring limestone areas, especially the Poldens and around Bath, though is not restricted to this habitat.&nbsp; It is most often observed by day on the flower-heads of Hogweed, the larval foodplant, and can be reared from the seeds.&nbsp; It is also said to be attracted to the TIP pheromone lure.
