Black Piercer

Rare.&nbsp; The early stages are unknown, possibly associated with blackthorn or oak.&nbsp; Most of the recent records are of adults to light.&nbsp; Orchard Wood (24 May 2008, 3 June 2006), Greyfield Wood (25 Aug 2000), Shapwick Heath (22 July 2020), West Luccombe (17 June 1993), Asham Wood (3 June 1929).

Regal Piercer

Widespread and fairly common,
probably everywhere where its foodplant, sycamore Acer pseudoplatanus,
occurs.&nbsp; The early stages can be recorded
in various ways, but it is usually found as an adult to light.

Sycamore Piercer

Fairly common, possibly more
numerous though not so widespread as P. regiana which shares the same
foodplant, sycamore Acer pseudoplatanus.
