Oncocera semirubella

This distinctive moth is found in three distinct areas in Somerset - the calcareous grasslands of the Mendips and Poldens, and the extreme south of the county around Chard, where the underlying bedrock is chalk.  It can sometimes be found by day but is usually recorded at light.
