Fairly widespread, but local.&nbsp; Associated with conifers, and accordingly most frequently found in upland, wooded areas, and scarce or absent from areas lacking coniferous woodland.

Peacock Moth

Separable only with difficulty from Sharp-angled Peacock, and a much rarer species than that moth in Somerset; formerly widespread but has now declined to the point where it is not recorded in the county most years.

Quite a rare moth nationally, but widespread in Somerset and far commoner here than the very similar Peacock Moth.&nbsp; That said, numbers have declined considerably over the last two decades.
