Scarce immigrant, mainly in southern, coastal, England. There are just a few county records from 1992.

A rare species of grassy places
with extremely poor soils, which are often rocky.&nbsp; The moths fly by day and also come to
light.&nbsp; Most records are from calcareous
sites, particularly on the Mendips and Poldens, but it also turns up locally
and irregularly at sites in inland Exmoor.

Widespread and frequently
recorded throughout the county, except perhaps inland Exmoor.&nbsp; Usually recorded in small numbers, but from
time to time being recorded in double figures, including in gardens.
