Lampronia capitella

    Currant Shoot Borer

    ProdoxidaeABH 9.001 B&F 133

This moth feeds in the shoot-tips of wild currant in the spring and wilted leaves of affected stems give away its presence; it also comes to light.  Now a very rare species nationally, larvae were found at Harridge Wood in 2022 and the moth has been found before at nearby Edford Wood.  It may occur elsewhere in the nearby area.

    Adult Verification Grade: 3
