Dotted Border Wave

Always scarce in the county, it has become increasingly rare in recent years and was last seen in the county in 2014 (Porlock).&nbsp; Relatively recent records from the Quantocks, Merriott and Periton.&nbsp; Associated with dry, acidic sites, which are often under-recorded in Somerset, is possible that populations still exist in these areas.

Small Dusty Wave

A fairly frequently recorded moth, but with a patchy distribution, fairly common in the south and west of the county and also in the north, but rare in much of the centre and east.&nbsp; Double-brooded in Somerset.

Satin Wave

A scarce and local moth, observed most years in small numbers.&nbsp; The stronghold appears to be the northern edge of the Blackdowns, between Taunton and Chard; it is less frequent than it was in the Quantocks and around Minehead, and very scattered in occurrence and increasingly rare elsewhere, usually on or near calcareous grassland sites.
