Dusky Brocade

A moth of semi-natural habitats and, although widely distributed, quite scarce, the vast majority of records being of single individuals at light.&nbsp; Its populations in the south and west of the county seem to be holding up well, but it seems to be disappearing from less favourable areas in the centre and north.

Small Dotted Buff

A widespread moth of damp places,
occasionally locally abundant – Great Breach Wood and the Simonsbath area
appear to be particular hotspots.&nbsp; Most
records are, however, of wanderers in small numbers to garden lights.&nbsp; The moth appears to be holding its own in the
south and west of the county, but in decline in the north and east.

Webb's Wainscot

A nationally scarce species of wetlands, first recorded in Britain in 1879, since when it has expanded into south-east&nbsp; and south-west England and East Anglia. Turner (1955) lists it as first recorded in the county in 1950, near Weston-Super-Mare.&nbsp; Regularly recorded from the Berrow/Burnham-on-Sea area since 1973, and from Dunster Beach 1998-2001 (this site has not been surveyed since).  Sporadic records from around Langport since 2010, possibly reflecting a population somewhere on the Levels nearby.
