Lesser-spotted Pinion

A moth with a scattered and local distribution across the county, but much-declined as a result of Dutch Elm Disease.&nbsp; It appears reluctant to fly far to light, and targeted searching for the larvae in spring has shown it to be more widespread than light-trapping records suggest, at least in the north-east of the county.

The Olive

Rare; recorded most years but not every year, always in very low numbers.&nbsp; Records are scattered across the county, with nowhere appearing to be a particular stronghold.&nbsp; Conspicuously absent from much of the Levels.

White-spotted Pinion

An elm-feeding species that has been hit badly by Dutch elm disease.&nbsp; Turner (1955) considered it to be local and uncommon in the county. Most modern records occurred in the period from 1950 to 1993, followed by just a couple of records in the 21st century.
