Striped Twin-spot Carpet

Its rocky moorland and hillside habitat means that this species is very local in Somerset, restricted to Exmoor and the Quantocks. Recorded in very small numbers and not annually. May be disturbed during the day. Larval foodplant is Bedstraws.&nbsp; It is more common and widespread in Wales, northern England and Scotland.

Green Carpet

A common and widespread moth, though has declined sharply in numbers since 2006.&nbsp; Flies in two generations and can often be met with on the wing in the evening.

A birch-feeder, fairly common in the west of the county, much scarcer in the north and east, reflecting the abundance of the foodplant.<br>
