Probably widespread and common, feeding on oaks, and with most records of adults coming to light; undoubtedly under-recorded, especially recently, as identification cannot be done from the case and requires dissection of an adult.<br>

As the scientific name suggests,
associated with pine and spruce.&nbsp; The
adults come to light.&nbsp; Six records,
scattered across the county: Shipham (2021), Bratton (2017), Chedington Woods
(2010), Shapwick (1994), Bathford (pre-1955) and Haselbury Plucknett (1931).

Stitchwort Case-bearer

A resident of woodland with populations of Greater Stitchwort <i>Stellaria holostea</i>, also being found along hedgerows and country lanes adjacent to woods.&nbsp; Strangely scarce and local, it can regularly be recorded in some woods whilst being absent from similar, adjacent woods.&nbsp; Best found by day in spring.
