Fairly common and widespread across the county, being recorded both at light and as larval cases on creeping thistle Cirsium arvense.

Saltmarsh Case-bearer

A saltmarsh species, which seldom if ever wanders from its habitat.&nbsp; Most records are from the coast between Steart and Sand Point, with an outlier at Porlock where suitable habitat exists.&nbsp; Its range could plausibly extend a little further north, around Woodspring Bay, where little moth recording of any kind has been done.

Mugwort Case-bearer

A single record of this moth in Somerset, from Haselbury Plucknett in 1928.&nbsp; It is most easily recorded by searching for larval cases on its foodplant, mugwort, and it may still occur in the county.
