Widespread across the county, the gap in inland Exmoor probably being the result of under-recording.&nbsp; Whilst the moth does come to light, it can be found in a variety of ways, as larvae on sallow or, perhaps most frequently, as hibernating adults in caves, tunnels or outbuildings.

Chocolate-tip

Widespread if thinly distributed right across the county, though not yet recorded from inland Exmoor.

Small Chocolate-tip

Turner (1955) considered this species of open, damp,&nbsp; habitats to be very rare, reported from some places in the north of the county many years previously. It inhabits open, damp, places. Since Turner (1955) there has been one record from Bruton in 1965.
