Broom-tip

A nationally scarce species with a patchy distribution. It has always been very rare in the&nbsp; county, with just five records since 1950 (three of which are not shown on the distribution map).&nbsp; It is a species of heathland, moorland and open woodland, with most county records coming from the Minehead area. As the species name suggest, the larval foodplant is Broom.

Lesser Treble-bar

Very similar to and can be confused with Treble-bar. In the county it is thinly distributed and much less common than Treble-bar, but that may be because of identification difficulties. It occupies a wide range of open habitats, including woodland rides, calcareous grassland, sand dunes and coastal cliffs.

The Streak

Historically rare and local in the county, it has been reported irregularly in small numbers since 1990; its late flight period (October) may mean that it is under-recorded. It was once regularly recorded from the hills around Minehead, and although it has not been seen there since the 1970s, it may still occur there.&nbsp; Its habitats include moorland,&nbsp; heathland, hedgerows and other habitat where the larval foodplant, Broom, occurs.
