Brown Silver-line

Associated with bracken, this moth comes to light in good numbers but is also frequently disturbed by day.&nbsp; Its distribution is governed by the foodplant - very common and easily found across much of the county but altogether absent from areas lacking bracken.

Associated with open, floristically-diverse habitats, this moth is primarily a day-flier though occasionally comes to light.&nbsp; Fairly local, but probably under-recorded, most frequently from the Poldens, Mendips and Avon Gorge.

Little Thorn

Scarce and local, associated primarily with bilberry.&nbsp; Largely restricted to very acid soils within Somerset, though oddly frequently reported around Weston-super-Mare and Bristol.&nbsp; The largest numbers tend to be met with in the Quantocks.
