Campion Groundling

Only a handful of records to date of this species, which is likely to be under-recorded.&nbsp; The larvae make spinnings in the shoots of Red Campion Silene dioica&nbsp;and White Campion Silene latifolia&nbsp;in the spring.

In Somerset this specialist of sandy, coastal places has only been found at Berrow, most recently in 1987.&nbsp; It is apparently reluctant to come to light and more often found as a larva.&nbsp; The larval host plant is Small Mouse-ear Cerastium semidecandrum, on which the larvae make spinnings in the spring.
