Bucculatrix ulmella

    Oak Tuft

    BucculatricidaeABH 14.01 B&F 274

Despite the scientific name, associated with oak, not elm, and most records are of leaf-mines on oak.  Commonest in woodlands but also occurs on hedgerow oaks in areas where these are plentiful.  Not recorded from several parts of the county, in some instances perhaps through lack of recording, put possibly genuinely absent from others through lack of host plant.
