Scarlet Tiger

A moth that has expanded greatly since the turn of the century from its strongholds around Bristol and Bath.&nbsp; It can now be found across most of the county, appearing absent from Quantock and Exmoor away from the coast.&nbsp; The moth is attracted to light and also flies in the evening.&nbsp; The brightly-coloured larvae are frequently recorded in the spring, feeding on comfreys and related plants.

Garden Tiger

A moth in decline nationally.&nbsp; The Somerset picture is not quite so clear-cut as it is still regularly and widely recorded, though it appears to be retreating towards core areas and becoming absent from others - it is in particular rarely found on or adjacent to the Mendips.

Cream-spot Tiger

Widespread and regularly recorded, if usually in small numbers, in a band from Porlock to Yeovil.&nbsp; Absent from most of Exmoor and very few records north of Shapwick, where it appears unlikely to be resident.
