Small Clouded Brindle

A moth of varied damp habitats, local in the county and declining in numbers.&nbsp; Most frequently recorded from the wetlands around Shapwick and the Taunton area.&nbsp; Inexplicably absent from inland Exmoor, which should suit it, and, less unexpectedly, from agriculturally-improved eastern Somerset.

Large Nutmeg

Fairly widespread and frequently recorded in a central part of the county bounded by Taunton, Street and Yeovil; scattered and local elsewhere, though appears to be holding its own.

Rustic Shoulder-knot

A grassland species, scarce at light in gardens.&nbsp; It is fairly widespread in the county, though has disappeared from western Somerset in the last 20 years for no obvious reason.&nbsp; Elsewhere, numbers appear to be declining somewhat.
