The Confused

    Apamea furva

    NoctuidaeABH 73.165 B&F 2329

A moth of rocky coasts and mountain moorland, found primarily in Wales, northern England and Scotland. Turner (1955) considered it to be very rare and local in the county. Since then it has been recorded irregularly and in small numbers, mostly at coastal locations. It needs to be distinguished with care from Dusky Brocade, and, to a lesser extent, Crescent Striped and Nutmeg.
