Widely distributed on calcareous grassland on the Mendips, more scarcely reported from similar habitat elsewhere, and very rarely encountered in VC5.

Aspen Roller

Rare.&nbsp; The only recent records are from the county
borders at Chedington Woods (2010) and Cox’s Lodge, Stourhead (2005).&nbsp; Historically known from between Bristol and
Clevedon.

Small Buckthorn Roller

Very rare, perhaps extinct.&nbsp; A single record for each vice-county: VC6 a
vague record for “ST35” in 1980, and VC5 from Haselbury Plucknett in the
1930s.&nbsp; Associated with buckthorns, which
are not common species in Somerset.
