Flounced Rustic

A widespread moth, sometimes numerous at light, especially in the western half of the county, though numbers are only a shadow of what they were in the 1960s-1980s.&nbsp; Something of a rarity now in parts of eastern Somerset.

Large Ear

A species of wet acid moorland , marshes and rough pastures that cannot reliably be distinguished from other 'Ear' species unless dissected.

Ear Moth

Found in a range of open habitats, it is more likely to be found inland than other 'Ear' species, favouring damp habitats. As with its cousins, identification can only reliably be made by dissection.
