Cistus Forester

A day-flying species of
calcareous grassland, probably in decline.&nbsp;
Most recent records are from Walton Common near Clevedon, though also at
the remote and inaccessible Long Knoll in the far east of the county.&nbsp; No recent records from the Mendips, and not
seen at its traditional stronghold there, Dolebury Warren, since 2008.&nbsp; Needs care to distinguish it from other forester species.

Thrift Clearwing

No Somerset records, but not improbable that it occurs on parts of the Exmoor coast where its foodplant is common.<br>

The Forester

A much-declined moth in Somerset,
in keeping with the national trend.&nbsp;
Still regularly recorded from Priddy Mineries.&nbsp; Other relatively recent sites include Ham
Hill (last record 2015), GB Gruffy (2012), Hatch Hill (2011), Bannerdown
(2010), Blackmoor (2008) and Ubley Warren (2007).&nbsp; This moth needs considerable care to distinguish it from other forester species.
